{"id":7545,"date":"2023-07-20T10:33:01","date_gmt":"2023-07-20T10:33:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/studiointra.it\/multilingual-blog-translation\/"},"modified":"2023-09-12T11:33:29","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T11:33:29","slug":"multilingual-blog-translation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/studiointra.it\/en\/multilingual-blog-translation\/","title":{"rendered":"Walks and breathtaking views: translation of the Dolomite multilingual blog."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For several years now we have been translating the <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><a style=\"color: #008080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dolomite.it\/global\/en\/news\">multilingual blog of Dolomite<\/a><\/span>, a historic brand of footwear and clothing for outdoor activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is it about?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dolomite blog is an excellent example of <strong>corporate storytelling<\/strong>: thanks also to an international network of Ambassadors that test products in the field, Dolomite regularly publishes <strong>useful and diversified content<\/strong>, ranging from travel reports to hiking trips, from social company projects to the exploits of legendary mountaineers, the brand\u2019s first true Ambassadors. Dolomite promotes mountains and exploration of nature as activities <strong>within everyone\u2019s reach<\/strong> and offers multilingual blog posts involving amateur walkers though to researchers of the Antarctic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What does the project look like?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dolomite blog is available in <strong>four languages<\/strong>: Italian, English, German and French, aimed at a mainly European audience, particularly in the countries next to the Alpine range. The corporate website can be accessed in the four languages and incorporates an <strong>e-commerce platform<\/strong>,to which the posts are directly linked. The blog texts telling the \u201cTrue Stories\u201d of the Dolomite Ambassadors are written in the language of the writer, after which it is our job to translate them into the other website languages. The topics covered vary, but what all the texts have in common is an <strong>emotional slant<\/strong> and a <strong>passion for nature.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How was the translation work organized?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The translation of the blog into several languages is assigned to <strong>experienced professionals<\/strong> who over time have come to <strong>know Dolomite products<\/strong> and the style of the stories. The texts of the Ambassadors are written in first person by different hands, each with <strong>their own peculiarities<\/strong>: it is not always straightforward to render these features in translation; writing skills that border on the <strong>literary<\/strong> are required. The translation of posts also requires <strong>in-depth research<\/strong> into technical details and the places described. An opportunity for us to travel alongside the bloggers and dream of far-off places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To sum up:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dolomite blog is one we like: it\u2019s human and interesting, exciting and functional. Its purpose is of course to <strong>promote products<\/strong>, but Dolomite does so <strong>by educating and entertaining<\/strong> the reader. The texts are personal and always a joy to read, the photos fascinating, and the itineraries recommended are useful to plan weekend excursions.
